Cherry Cobbler
4 cups (580g) cherries, pitted and halved
6 tablespoons (85g) butter
1 cup (125g) flour
1/2 cup (100g) sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup (240ml) milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1. preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Place butter in a 10" (25cm) cast iron skillet and put it in the oven to melt
2. whisk flour, sugar, baking soda and salt together. Add milk and vanilla extract
3. remove skillet from oven, spread cherries over the melted butter and pour the batter over the cherries
4. bake for 50-55 minutes. Cover loosely with aluminum foil after about 30 minutes to prevent from browning too fast
Cool and enjoy with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
